The demand pipeline is the industry's broadest — an order book around $14.5B spanning roughly 2,850 aircraft from 29 customers in 13 countries — and the Taubaté plant gives it a dedicated production site inside Brazil's aerospace cluster, with ANAC, a certification authority that has actually certified clean-sheet aircraft (with FAA validation to follow), leading the process. Add Vector, the urban air-traffic-management software already bundled into customer deals like FlyBlade India, and Eve holds the OEM-backed, capital-light, software-optioned position in a category where cash-rich rivals are simply buying time Eve gets structurally.

Eve is chronically late, and in eVTOL, late compounds. Certification and entry into service have slipped to 2028 — from 2027, which itself slipped from 2026 — while the flight-test evidence remains embryonic: 59 flights totaling two hours and 27 minutes as of Q1 2026, with the full transition maneuver still not flown and conforming prototypes not due to begin production until early 2027. By the time Eve's first aircraft could carry a paying passenger, Archer and Joby plan to have been operating commercially for two years in the US and UAE, harvesting the launch-market publicity, vertiport access, and operational data that define the category's winners. The order book flatters to deceive: the ~$14.5B figure is overwhelmingly non-binding letters of intent — coverage consistently notes the backlog's non-binding character, and no verified count of firm orders exists — from helicopter operators and lessors who signed costless options during the 2021–2022 froth. The burn is accelerating exactly as the timeline stretches: Q1 2026's net loss of $68.8M was up 41% year over year on $59.1M of R&D, pre-revenue, meaning the record $577.7M liquidity covers roughly two years of a program that needs three or more — with the January facility already being debt that must be serviced.
