Gatik develops Level 4 autonomous driving technology purpose-built for the short-haul 'middle mile' — the repeated, fixed routes that move goods between distribution centers, micro-fulfillment hubs, and retail stores. Founded in 2017 by Gautam Narang, Arjun Narang, and Apeksha Kumavat and headquartered in Mountain View, California, the company runs autonomous box trucks on commercial routes in the United States and Canada for customers including Walmart, Kroger, Tyson Foods, and Loblaw, and has operated driverless runs on dedicated routes. In August 2021 Gatik raised an $85 million Series B led by Koch Disruptive Technologies, bringing total funding to roughly $114.5 million at the time; it later secured a strategic investment from Nippon Express Holdings in 2024 to expand North American logistics.
