Gravity is an EV-charging and fleet-infrastructure startup founded in 2019 by Moshe Cohen and based in New York City. The company grew out of an effort to electrify New York taxi fleets and now develops some of the highest-power public charging in the U.S., including 500 kW chargers and a curbside "charging tree" form factor with a hinged swing-arm cable that pivots down for street-level sessions. Gravity opened a flagship 500 kW fast-charging center in Midtown Manhattan and is expanding to additional cities. Investors include Google Ventures (GV), which led a seed round in November 2023; the size of Gravity's rounds has not been publicly disclosed.
Gravity is pushing the upper bound of public charging speed and pioneering curbside high-power hardware designed to fit dense urban streets rather than highway plazas.
