Structurally, Lucid is a single-factory, two-model luxury maker in a US market that lost its EV purchase tax credit in September 2025, competing against Tesla's price umbrella, German incumbents' electric flagships, and Rivian's cheaper R2 — while its survival depends on the continued strategic patience of one sovereign fund whose priorities (including the Saudi AMP-2 factory commitments) are political as much as commercial.
