Founded in 2015 by Sanjit Biswas and John Bicket, who had previously built networking company Meraki and sold it to Cisco, the company is headquartered in San Francisco. Its Connected Operations Cloud spans vehicle telematics, video-based safety, electronic logging device (ELD) compliance, equipment monitoring, and workforce apps, serving tens of thousands of transportation, logistics, construction, and field-services customers. Samsara went public on the New York Stock Exchange in December 2021 and trades under the ticker IOT.
