Provided herein are (e.g., controlled release) compositions for the treatment of acute or chronic diseases or disorders. Described herein are processable opioid conjugates. Also described herein are compositions and methods for the treatment of central nervous system (CNS) diseases or disorders including chronic pain (e.g., cancer pain), acute pain, opioid addiction, alcohol addiction, alcohol dependence, opioid-induced constipation, and narcotic depression. Said compositions and methods comprise opioid agonists and/or opioid antagonists, which demonstrate CNS activity and/or other desirable activities. Injection of said compositions subcutaneously or intraspinally provides therapeutic benefit to individuals suffering from CNS diseases or disorders.

Abstract The disclosure features polymorphs of a prodrug dimer of dexamethasone linked at the 21-C and 21′-C carbons via a carbonate-triethylene glycol-carbonate linker. Also disclosed are pharmaceutical compositions and articles comprising said polymorphs, and the use thereof in the treatment of a disease or condition, e.g. via the extended or controlled release of dexamethasone from said articles.

Abstract The disclosed embodiments provide an apparatus and methods for assisting individuals in controlling respiratory rates. For example, a respiratory regulation apparatus is provided in the form of a plush animal toy that operates components to simulate the breathing rate of anxious individuals. The apparatus may include actuators that are controlled by a slotted cam that is dynamically rotated at varying speeds in a determined rotational direction. The actuators move inward and outward in relative directions to move a torso of the plush animal toy to simulate breathing. In certain aspects, actuators may expand outward while at the same time another actuator contracts inward to cause the torso to simulate realistic breathing movements. A processor controls the speed of the cam such that the simulated breathing of the animal toy apparatus can be reduced at a controlled rate to assist an individual in reducing their breathing rate to a calmer state.

Abstract Disclosed herein are systems and methods for coupling electrodes to electrical components that may be utilized in a variety of applications to collect data from the electrodes. In one embodiment, an electrode connection system to couple an electrode to an electrical component. The electrode connection system includes the electrical connector body comprising a PCB assembly cavity and an electrode channel. An electrode clamp coupled to the electrical connector body may include an engaging mechanism and at least one electrode clamp pad protrusion to couple an at least one electrode pad to an at least one connector pad. The PCB assembly may include at least one connector pad. The electrode may comprise at least one electrically active electrode pad. The electrical component may collect data from the electrode or stimulate tissue utilizing the electrode.

Abstract A geographical location of a user device is determined. It is determined that the geographical location of the user device matches a digital element based on a distance difference between the geographical location of the user device and a geographical location of the digital element. In response to the determination that the geographical location of the user device matches the digital element, an indication that the digital element is selectable is provided. A representation of the digital element is provided without providing an auditory content of the digital element prior to the digital element being obtained. A user selection indication that selects the representation of the digital element to obtain the auditory content of the digital element is received. The auditory content of the digital element is provided upon receiving the user selection indication.

Responsive to receiving a message that fulfills a condition on the hold and an instruction to execute the transfer, the hold may be released. A register that is in the first resource pool and is associated with the resource may decremented by the first quantity, and a register that is in the second resource pool and is associated with the resource may be incremented by the first quantity.
