Ben Bloom
Bloom holds a BS from MIT and a PhD in physics from the University of Colorado Boulder, where he contributed to building one of the most accurate atomic clocks ever constructed at the time. He founded Atom Computing in January 2018, drawing on his expertise in ultracold neutral atoms and atomic clocks to develop scalable quantum processors using optically-trapped atom arrays. After serving as CEO for over three years before briefly stepping into the CTO role, he returned as CEO in 2024. The company has demonstrated a 1,180-atom quantum processor, one of the largest neutral-atom systems built.
