Geordie Rose
Rose earned a PhD in theoretical physics from the University of British Columbia in 2000 and co-founded D-Wave Systems in 1999 — making it the world's first quantum computing company. As CTO he drove the company's focus on quantum annealing, resulting in the first commercial quantum computers sold to Lockheed Martin and Google. An inventor on more than 70 US patents and co-author of papers in Nature and Science, Rose left D-Wave to co-found Kindred AI and later Sanctuary Cognitive Systems, applying lessons from quantum hardware to robotics.
