Julien Camirand Lemyre
Camirand Lemyre holds a PhD in experimental quantum computation from the University of Sherbrooke, where he spent nearly a decade researching fabrication techniques for improved quantum computing performance within the renowned Institut Quantique. He co-founded Nord Quantique in 2020 with Philippe St-Jean as a spinoff from Sherbrooke's quantum research program. The company builds superconducting quantum computers using bosonic codes for error correction — encoding quantum information in the photon states of microwave cavities rather than individual two-level qubits. Nord Quantique reached a $1.4 billion USD valuation in 2026.
