Origin Quantum
Origin Quantum is a Superconducting Qubits company founded in 2017 and based in Hefei, China.
Origin Quantum, registered as Origin Quantum Computing Technology (Hefei) Co., Ltd., was established in September 2017 in Hefei, Anhui, by physicists Guo Guoping and Guo Guangcan, drawing on technology from the CAS Key Laboratory of Quantum Information, where Guo Guoping is deputy director. It builds superconducting quantum computers and makes most of the stack in-house: quantum chips from its own production line, the Origin Tianji control system, SL-series dilution refrigerators, the Origin Pilot operating system and the QPanda programming framework. Its third-generation Origin Wukong went online in January 2024, and the fourth-generation, 180-qubit Origin Wukong-180 opened to users worldwide in May 2026. The company sells cloud access through Origin Quantum Cloud, delivers on-premises systems, sells dilution refrigerators, including an international order in July 2025, and offers industry solutions for finance, biomedicine, energy and university teaching.
Origin Quantum gives the page a view of China's quantum hardware effort, built largely on domestic supply chains: the company says it designs its own chips, control electronics, cryogenics and operating system. According to the company, Origin Wukong logged about 50 million remote accesses from more than 160 countries and over 900,000 computing tasks by May 2026, and in 2025 it began selling Chinese-built quantum computing power abroad. Its education programs reach nearly 100 universities.
