Quantum Computing Inc. (QUBT) is a publicly traded Photonic Qubits company founded in 2018 and based in Hoboken, United States.
Quantum Computing Inc. was formed in 2018 and is headquartered in Hoboken, New Jersey. In June 2022 it merged with QPhoton, the photonics company founded by its CEO and chairman, Yuping Huang. QCi builds photonic machines that run at room temperature, including the Dirac-3 entropy quantum computer for optimization problems, sold as a cloud service and as an on-premises system, and the NeuraWave reservoir computer. It operates a thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) chip foundry in Tempe, Arizona. In 2026 it bought Luminar Semiconductor for $110 million in February, NuCrypt in March and the advanced-packaging foundry NHanced Semiconductors for about $74 million in June, adding photonic components, lasers, detectors and chip packaging. Revenue comes mainly from photonics product sales, foundry and packaging services, and research contracts, and reached $5.6 million in Q2 2026. QCi raised $750 million in an October 2025 private placement and held about $1.3 billion in cash and investments at June 30, 2026.
QCi trades on Nasdaq as QUBT alongside listed quantum peers IonQ, Rigetti and D-Wave, but it builds room-temperature photonic machines instead of cryogenic qubits. Its $750 million October 2025 raise funded a series of 2026 acquisitions that moved it into photonic components and chip packaging. A $42.5 million contract backlog at June 30, 2026 and a second fab make it a test of whether quantum photonics can sell at manufacturing scale.
