Intuition Robotics
Intuition Robotics is a Social Robots company founded in 2015 and based in Ramat Gan (Tel Aviv), Israel. It has raised $83M in total funding, most recently a Venture (growth) in 2023.
Intuition Robotics builds ElliQ, a proactive AI companion robot designed to reduce loneliness and support independent living for older adults. ElliQ combines an expressive tabletop 'head' unit with a touchscreen tablet and uses conversational AI, daily wellness check-ins, medication and appointment reminders, cognitive games, and video calling to provide companionship and health engagement. The company sells both direct-to-consumer and through partnerships with state and municipal agencies on aging — notably a multi-year deployment with the New York State Office for the Aging.
Intuition Robotics was founded in 2015 in Ramat Gan, Israel (Tel Aviv metro) by CEO Dor Skuler, Roy Amir, and Itai Mendelsohn. The company has raised approximately USD 83M across seven rounds, including a USD 36M Series B in 2020 and a USD 25M round in August 2023 led by Woven Capital (Toyota's growth fund) with participation from Toyota Ventures, OurCrowd, and Western Technology Investment. Other investors include Samsung NEXT, iRobot, Sparx Group, and Terra Ventures. At CES 2024, Intuition Robotics launched ElliQ 3, and the company continues to iterate on multi-modal generative-AI features while expanding its agencies-on-aging and Medicare Advantage channel partnerships.
Intuition Robotics has the most mature commercial deployment model in the companion-robot category, with public-sector aging-services contracts giving it a differentiated go-to-market versus direct-to-consumer peers — and a cautionary contrast to Embodied's shutdown.
