Co-founded Flutter, a gesture-recognition startup that was acquired by Google for ~$40M in 2013, after both founders had already joined Google through the earlier acquisition of Like.com. At Google, led product management for the Nest Cams portfolio, where daily exposure to the gap between consumer expectations of home robots and the reality of disc-shaped vacuums became the seed for Matic. Holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. A distinguishing thread across his career: applying first-principles thinking to hardware categories that have settled into incrementalism—first gesture interfaces, then home robotics. Matic emerged from stealth in 2023 with ~$30M in backing from Nest, Stripe, and GitHub alumni, building an autonomous floor cleaner that processes everything on-device, explicitly rejecting the cloud-dependent approach of incumbents.
