Stuart Lombard
Stuart Lombard earned a B.Sc. in applied mathematics from Queen's University and built a career in Canadian technology before founding ecobee, co-founding internet provider InterRamp and holding leadership roles including Co-CEO of Isolation Systems and VP of R&D at Grocery Gateway, as well as a stint as a partner at venture firm Relay Ventures. Motivated to reduce his family's carbon footprint, he was frustrated by how hard it was to program a conventional thermostat, and founded ecobee in Toronto in 2007 to build a smarter, Wi-Fi-connected thermostat. Lombard led ecobee as founding CEO through its growth into a pioneer of occupancy-aware smart thermostats and its 2021 acquisition by Generac, where he served as President of Connected Devices and Services, before announcing his retirement in 2023.
