Qian Dongqi
Qian Dongqi holds a bachelor's degree in physics and a master's degree in philosophy from Nanjing University, and earlier in his career served as a business manager at the Shenzhen branch of China Electronics Import and Export Corporation. In 1998 he founded the company in Suzhou as TEK Electrical, originally an OEM manufacturer of traditional vacuum cleaners and home appliances. Inspired around 2000 by an article about a robotic soccer competition, he set up an in-house R&D team to combine vacuuming with robotic mobility, leading to the company's first robotic vacuum prototype and the launch of the Deebot floor-cleaning series by 2007. He rebranded the business as Ecovacs Robotics and has led it as Chairman through its 2018 listing on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, building one of the world's longest-running dedicated home-robotics companies.
