Lockly

Lockly is a smart-lock maker founded by Lee Zheng, a UC Berkeley graduate, that brought its consumer smart deadbolts to the US market in the mid-2010s. Its signature PIN Genie technology reshuffles the position of digits on the keypad after each use so onlookers cannot deduce the access code, and its locks pair that with 3D biometric fingerprint readers and app control. Lockly has since expanded into a video smart-lock category (Lockly Vision) and added Matter support through its Secure Link / Matter Link hub, including Matter-over-Thread connectivity. At CES 2026 it launched the Affirm series of Matter-over-Thread smart locks starting at $179.99, the TapCom platform for short-term-rental hosts, and the OwlGuard security camera. The company is privately held and runs in-house hardware and software teams, with operations spanning the US and Asia.
