Mammotion was founded around 2022 in Shenzhen by Wei Jidong (Jidong Wei), drawing on the robotics chassis and autonomy experience of AgileX Robotics, which Wei also founded in 2016. The company makes perimeter-wire-free robotic lawn mowers aimed at replacing both gas mowers and older robot mowers that require buried boundary cables.
Its flagship LUBA line uses GNSS/RTK positioning for precise, wire-free navigation, with all-wheel-drive models that handle steep slopes and uneven terrain; the more capable variants add a Tri-Fusion system combining 360-degree LiDAR, network RTK, and vision for mapping. Mammotion also sells the YUKA mid-size mower line and has expanded into robotic pool cleaning. At CES 2026 the company unveiled the LUBA 3 AWD and broadened its autonomous-mower lineup, and it is expanding into nationwide US big-box retail — already in Walmart, with Home Depot and Lowe's following in early 2026.
