Matic

Matic was founded in 2017 by Navneet Dalal, Mehul Nariyawala, and Shafaq Presswala, computer-vision veterans whose prior startup was acquired by Google/Nest. The company builds a fully autonomous home-cleaning robot that vacuums and mops floors in a single pass using a vision-first approach rather than LiDAR. Matic's robot relies on five to six RGB and infrared cameras paired with on-device neural networks running on an Nvidia Jetson Orin module to build real-time 3D maps of the home and navigate without a cloud connection, emphasizing privacy. The company sells direct-to-consumer through its own website to US customers at a premium price, deliberately avoiding retail-channel margin pressure. Matic has raised roughly $167 million in total. It closed a Series A Prime round in July 2025 of about $77 million across two tranches, reportedly at around a $650 million valuation, then announced an additional $60 million on January 29, 2026 (valuation undisclosed). Early backers include Nat Friedman, the Collison brothers, Matt Rogers, Jack Dorsey, Naval Ravikant, and 8VC. The company has shipped more than 6,000 robots.
