Mysa

Joshua Green is a mechanical engineer educated at Dalhousie University with a strong interest in environmental sustainability. Before Mysa he ran Empowered Homes, conducting residential energy audits, and through that work discovered that while Nest and ecobee served low-voltage systems well, there were virtually no smart thermostats for high-voltage electric baseboard heating common in Canada and the northern US. He co-founded Mysa in St. John's, Newfoundland in 2016 with his younger brother Zachary, building the first prototype in their parents' basement. As CEO he has led Mysa into smart thermostats for baseboard, in-floor, and mini-split electric heating, plus load-control products tied to home electrification and grid demand response.
