Richard Chang
Richard Chang (Chang Jing), born in 1982 in Hunan, China, studied computer science at the South China University of Technology, earning bachelor's and master's degrees and winning recognition including a national award in Microsoft's Imagine Cup. Before founding Roborock he held product and program roles at Microsoft, Tencent, and Baidu, and built a mobile photo-app startup that Baidu acquired. He founded Roborock in Beijing in 2014, and the team's early demo quickly attracted backing from Xiaomi's ecosystem investors, leading Roborock to build Xiaomi's first robot vacuum before establishing its own premium brand. He led the company to a 2020 listing on the Shanghai Stock Exchange's STAR Market and serves as its chairman and CEO, while also pursuing an electric-vehicle venture.
