Intuitive Machines
Intuitive Machines (NASDAQ: LUNR) is a publicly traded Lunar & Planetary company founded in 2013 and based in Houston, United States.
Founded in 2013 by Stephen Altemus, Kam Ghaffarian, and Tim Crain out of NASA's Johnson Space Center, Intuitive Machines develops the Nova-C lunar lander and supporting lunar infrastructure. Its IM-1 mission's Odysseus lander made the first soft lunar landing by a private company in February 2024, the first American spacecraft on the Moon since Apollo 17. The Houston company went public on Nasdaq as LUNR in 2024 and holds multiple NASA Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) task orders along with contracts for a lunar relay and navigation network.
It is the first private company to soft-land on the Moon, and a primary commercial delivery contractor for NASA's Artemis lunar program.
