Spectrum is a two-stage orbital rocket, 28 m long and 2 m in diameter, that burns liquid oxygen and propane and can carry up to 1,000 kg to low Earth orbit or 700 kg to sun-synchronous orbit. Nine engines power the lower stage and a single restartable Aquila engine powers the upper stage. Its second flight, "Onward and Upward," lifted off from Andøya on Sept. 5, 2026, and released all customer payloads in orbit.
Isar sells dedicated, lead-payload and rideshare launches on Spectrum for single satellites and constellations, flying from its own launch complex at Andøya Spaceport in Norway under a 20-year pad lease signed in April 2021. It signed a 10-year agreement in July 2026 to launch from Spaceport Nova Scotia in Canada, and CNES selected it in July 2022 to launch from the Guiana Space Centre. Customers include Exotrail, Astroscale and SEOPS.
