Lynk Global is a Satellite Comms & Direct-to-Device company founded in 2017 and based in Falls Church, United States. It has raised $120M in total funding, most recently a Series B in 2023.
Founded in 2017 by Charles Miller, Margo Deckard, and Tyghe Speidel (originally as UbiquitiLink), Lynk Global builds low-Earth-orbit satellites that connect directly to ordinary, unmodified mobile phones for text messaging and emergency alerts. Lynk holds the first FCC commercial license for satellite direct-to-device service and has secured regulatory licenses in over 30 countries. The company has demonstrated service in more than 25 countries and signed commercial contracts with dozens of mobile network operators, including DOCOMO Pacific in Guam. A planned SPAC merger with Slam Corp was mutually terminated in July 2025, and in October 2025 Lynk announced plans to merge with rival direct-to-device startup Omnispace, with satellite operator SES set to become a major strategic shareholder; as of mid-2026 the combination remained pending US government and regulatory approval.
Lynk was first to obtain a commercial FCC license for sat-to-phone service, giving it a regulatory head start in the direct-to-device race.
