Mark A. Rein
Entered the video game industry after contacting John Romero at id Software, where he playtested Commander Keen 4 before being brought in to handle the business side as "probationary president." He negotiated a deal with FormGen to publish Commander Keen in Aliens Ate My Babysitter. After leaving id Software, Rein joined Tim Sweeney in early 1992 when the company became Epic MegaGames and has served as vice president since. Working remotely from Toronto, he primarily handled sales, marketing and publishing deals—business development that Sweeney found significantly contributed to the company's growth. He has been instrumental in securing significant licensing deals for the Unreal Engine, including multi-game agreements with publishers like Electronic Arts. He is recognized for his outspoken commentary on game development trends.
