In September 2025, Meta shipped the Meta Neural Band — an sEMG wristband bundled with every $799 Ray-Ban Display — and instantly validated the exact technology Wearable Devices has spent twelve years developing: surface electromyography that reads the neural signals behind subtle finger movements and turns them into device commands. Wearable Devices is the only public pure-play in that category (Nasdaq: WLDS), with shipping products on both sides of the ecosystem divide — the Mudra Band for Apple Watch (commercial since 2023) and the cross-platform Mudra Link (2025) — plus a patent estate that long predates Meta's push. The strategy has now pivoted to where the money is: the Mudra Pro, opened for enterprise and OEM pre-orders in June 2026 with an added PPG cardiovascular sensor, and Mudra Studio position the company as the hardware-agnostic neural-input supplier for every XR and AI-glasses maker that is not Meta — a list that includes essentially the entire industry, since none of Meta's competitors can source input technology from Meta. Revenue grew 24% in 2025 to $647K on a 28.5% increase in Mudra device sales, and the company raised more than $20M during 2025, giving it multi-year runway to convert OEM conversations as the AI-glasses category explodes. The asymmetry is the trade: a sub-$10M-revenue-multiple micro-cap holding scarce IP in the interface layer that Meta just spent a decade and roughly a billion dollars (via its CTRL-labs acquisition) proving out. One design win with a Samsung, Google, or Snap-class OEM — or an acquisition by one — repriced this company entirely.

The capital structure tells the story the press releases don't: a 1-for-20 reverse split in October 2024, a 1-for-4 in March 2025, and a 1-for-3 announced in June 2026 to cling to Nasdaq's $1.00 minimum — a cumulative 240-to-1 consolidation in twenty months, with the share count shrunk to about 2.2 million after serial dilutive raises. Against that: $647K of 2025 revenue, twelve years after founding, versus an $8.1M net loss — the more than $20M raised in 2025 does not fund a business, it funds survival. Meta's Neural Band validation is equally a death sentence for the consumer market: the deepest-pocketed player in XR bundles a polished sEMG wristband free with its glasses, built on CTRL-labs technology and years of data collection at a scale WLDS cannot approach, while Apple ships native wrist-gesture control on the Watch — squeezing the independent consumer accessory from both ends. The OEM-licensing pivot is rational but unproven: no major design win has been disclosed, XR hardware programs move on multi-year cycles that outlast micro-cap runways, and prospective partners can simply wait for the company's next financing crisis to extract better terms — or pick the patents out of a distressed sale. Enterprise pre-orders and AWE booth demos are activity, not traction. The base rate for sub-$1M-revenue Nasdaq micro-caps burning 12x their revenue annually is grim, and every quarter that passes without an OEM contract makes the dilution spiral steeper. The IP may find a home; the equity holders who financed its development rarely share in that outcome.
