Believer Meats (formerly Future Meat Technologies) was an Israeli-founded cultivated-meat company that built a large US plant in Wilson, North Carolina; it abruptly ceased operations in December 2025 despite an FDA clearance, leaving over $34 million in unpaid construction bills.

Upside Foods grows cultivated chicken from animal cells and was among the first companies cleared by US regulators to sell cell-cultured meat.
