Believer Meats (formerly Future Meat Technologies) was an Israeli-founded cultivated-meat company that built a large US plant in Wilson, North Carolina; it abruptly ceased operations in December 2025 despite an FDA clearance, leaving over $34 million in unpaid construction bills.

Wildtype is a San Francisco company making cultivated coho salmon and was the first to receive FDA clearance for a cultivated seafood product.
