Perfect Day is a Precision Fermentation company founded in 2014 and based in Berkeley, United States.
Founded in 2014 by Perumal Gandhi and Ryan Pandya, Perfect Day pioneered the use of precision fermentation to brew animal-free whey protein that is molecularly identical to cow's-milk whey, without using animals. Its flagship ingredient, branded ProFerm, received an FDA 'no questions' GRAS letter and has been used in ice cream, cream cheese and protein products sold under partner and licensee brands, positioning the company as a B2B dairy-protein supplier rather than a consumer brand. The company later announced a pre-Series E financing round of up to $90 million led by internal investors, alongside a leadership transition in which the co-founders stepped back from operations and president TM Narayan became interim CEO; reported cumulative investment is in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
