Lakestar
Pan-European technology from seed to growth, now centred on sovereignty and resilience.
Lakestar was founded in 2012 by Klaus Hommels, an early backer of Skype, Facebook and Spotify, and is headquartered in Zurich with offices in London and Berlin. The firm manages more than €2bn across early-stage and growth funds and backed Spotify, Revolut and Klarna; Hommels served as founding chairman of the NATO Innovation Fund. In 2025 Lakestar said it would stop raising new flagship funds to double down on its portfolio and its European resilience and defence strategy.
