M12, Microsoft's venture fund, was founded in 2016 as Microsoft Ventures and invests in early-stage companies aligned with Microsoft's platform strategy, giving portfolio founders access to the company's enterprise customers, cloud infrastructure and go-to-market channels. Led since 2021 by corporate vice president and global head Michelle Gonzalez, the fund concentrates on enterprise AI, cybersecurity, developer tools, vertical SaaS and frontier areas like AI silicon and quantum computing.
