Sapphire began life in 1996 as the venture capital division of SAP, became independently managed in 2011, and rebranded as Sapphire Ventures in 2014. From offices in Menlo Park, San Francisco, Austin and London, it backs expansion-stage enterprise technology companies — AI, B2B SaaS, cybersecurity and fintech — and also runs a fund-of-funds practice investing in early-stage venture firms. The firm reports more than $11.3 billion in assets under management as of December 31, 2024.
