Standard Bots
Standard Bots is a collaborative robotics company headquartered in Glen Cove, New York, co-founded by Evan Beard (CEO) and David Golden. The company designs and manufactures the RO1 six-axis collaborative robotic arm in the United States, targeting small and mid-sized manufacturers, machine shops, and logistics operators that have historically been priced out of traditional industrial robots. Standard Bots positions RO1 as a higher-payload, higher-precision, lower-cost alternative to European cobots, and pairs the hardware with an AI-driven no-code programming stack.
On July 12, 2024, Standard Bots announced a USD 63 million Series B funding round led by General Catalyst, with participation from Amazon Industrial Innovation Fund, Samsung Next, Lachy Groom, Quiet Capital, 468 Capital, Lightscape Partners, and Box Group. Max Rimpel of General Catalyst joined the board. The capital is being used to scale US manufacturing and bring AI-powered robots into use cases such as complex assembly, food preparation, and dishwashing. The company reports roughly 67 employees as of mid-2025 across four continents.
Standard Bots is the American cobot entrant betting on US manufacturing reshoring and an AI-native software stack to challenge Universal Robots' dominance.
