Clifford Gross
Earned a doctorate in biomechanics and ergonomics from New York University and an MBA from Oxford. Served as Acting Director of the graduate program in Biomechanics and Ergonomics at NYU and Chairman of the Biomechanics Department at New York Institute of Technology before transitioning to technology commercialization. Founded three companies that subsequently listed—Biomechanics Corp., UTEK, and Tekcapital—UTEK operated as a technology transfer firm from 1997 to 2009. Lucyd was founded by Tekcapital, a global IP investment firm sourcing technology from over 4,500 universities in 160 countries. His academic grounding in ergonomics directly informs Lucyd's focus on optical hardware that users can comfortably wear all day rather than tech-first form factors.
