Began as a hardware engineer in 2002 before ascending to Chief Engineer and Hardware Director at BYD (2007–2012), a Chinese multinational manufacturing electronics and automotive components, then served as R&D Director at GTK from 2012 to 2014. Founded Pimax in November 2015 (formally 2014), bringing deep hardware engineering expertise to the VR space. Led Pimax's record-breaking 2017 Kickstarter campaign for the 8K headset, which raised $4.2 million and earned a Guinness World Record as the most crowdfunded VR project. The company's core philosophy centers on "co-creation with users," emphasizing direct feedback loops through roadshows and inviting content creators into the development process—a strategy that has distinguished Pimax in pursuing high-FOV, high-resolution headsets for enthusiast markets.
