CRV, formerly Charles River Ventures, was founded in 1970 to commercialize research coming out of MIT, making it one of the oldest venture firms in the United States. Now based in the Bay Area with offices in Palo Alto and San Francisco, it focuses on leading seed and Series A rounds in enterprise and consumer startups. The firm has backed more than 600 companies at their earliest stages, including DoorDash, Airtable, Patreon and Vercel.
