Khosla Ventures
High-risk 'black swan' bets in AI, climate, health and deep tech — explicitly tolerant of high failure rates for outsized outcomes.
Founded in 2004 by Sun Microsystems co-founder Vinod Khosla with Samir Kaul and David Weiden, Khosla Ventures backs technically ambitious companies in AI, sustainability, health and food from its single Menlo Park office. The firm is known for embracing high failure rates in pursuit of category-defining outcomes, and was the first venture investor in OpenAI.
