Y Combinator
The original startup accelerator — batch-based seed funding, now $500K standard deals across 5,000+ companies.
Founded in March 2005 by Paul Graham, Jessica Livingston, Robert Morris and Trevor Blackwell, Y Combinator pioneered the batch accelerator model: standard-terms seed checks (currently $500,000 per company), intensive group mentorship, and a Demo Day. Now headquartered in San Francisco and led by President and CEO Garry Tan, YC has funded more than 5,000 companies, including Airbnb, Stripe, Dropbox, Coinbase and Reddit.
