Menlo Ventures
Fifty-year-old Silicon Valley firm now all-in on AI — Anthropic's largest venture backer via multiple rounds and the Anthology Fund.
Founded by H. DuBose Montgomery in 1976, Menlo Ventures is a multi-stage venture firm whose portfolio spans Siri, Uber, Roku and Chime. The firm led its first Anthropic investment in 2023 — now the largest investment in its history — and co-launched the Anthology Fund with Anthropic to back AI-native startups. In June 2026 Menlo raised $3 billion in fresh capital across an early-stage fund and a growth vehicle, and reports more than $8.5 billion under management.
