SoftBank Vision Fund
The largest technology investment vehicles ever raised — SoftBank's growth-stage mega-funds for AI-era companies.
The SoftBank Vision Fund was launched in 2017 by SoftBank Group founder Masayoshi Son, with Vision Fund 1 closing on roughly $100 billion — the largest technology fund ever raised — followed by the SoftBank-funded Vision Fund 2 in 2019. The funds are managed by SoftBank Investment Advisers, headquartered in London with offices in Silicon Valley and Tokyo, and led by CEO Alex Clavel since sole leadership passed to him in 2024. After heavy losses in 2022–23 the platform has refocused its late-stage cheques around artificial intelligence.
