Benchmark
Deliberately small equal partnership — a handful of general partners writing concentrated early-stage checks.
Founded in 1995 by Bob Kagle, Bruce Dunlevie, Andy Rachleff, Kevin Harvey and Val Vaden, Benchmark is known for its flat, equal partnership of four to six general partners with no junior staff and no platform teams. The partnership refreshed through 2024–2026 — Jack Altman and Everett Randle joined as general partners — and in June 2026 the firm raised its first-ever growth fund as part of a roughly $2B capital raise.
